PPMT Capital Advisors

Multi Family Office Advisors

Karl Douglas, Chief Investment Officer

As Chief Investment Officer of PPMT Capital, I ensure our family office clients have comprehensive visibility into the transaction activity in sectors covered by the portfolio strategies of our family office clients. I have built a data-driven origination platform or "deal flow engine" enhanced by a sector aligned expert network professionals for domain expertise, screening, due diligence, integration & management. There is a direct mathematical correlation between the percentage of sector deal activity reviewed and portfolio performance. SFOs, small PE firms and newly formed offices become PPMT clients for many reasons, cost reduction, accounting, and administration, but those commodity services frankly are available from many providers. The #1 reason clients onboard is our "deal flow engine", which dramatically increases sector visibility, transaction transparency, and access. #2 is although we are a high value-add firm, our management fee structure is completely investor aligned. With over 30 years in the industry, I have covered the entire process cycle having managed UHW client portfolios, sourced and structured acquisitions, developed sector-specific investment strategies, stepped into interim operations roles, and completed turn-arounds. Origination is a "roll your sleeves up" activity. The time spent with companies that are raising capital is invaluable because we can establish a trust relationship, which opens the door to a clear understanding of the challenges, risks and sometimes hidden opportunities in a company.
